In January 2012 we relocated to a new Head Office in Milton Keynes. We are recruiting for a Medical Services Advisor. This is an exciting career opportunity for somebody with enthusiasm to join a successful growing charity business.
Hours:
This is a full time position, 37 hours per week. Monday to Friday, shifts available- 9am-5pm, 8am-2pm, or 2pm-8pm (Some weekend over-time and on call work may be necessary)
Purpose:
To be the primary point of contact for The MedicAlert Foundation. To communicate with members in a polite and professional manner in order to obtain and assess the individual’s medical details and to ensure the information we hold is comprehensive, accurate and useful in the event of an emergency.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
· To be the primary point of contact for members/potential members or/and the general public and to provide a professional and friendly service to all callers, informing them of the services, offers and products provided by the organisation, including but not limited to:
· Queries regarding MedicAlert services
· New membership
· Amendments to member’s details
· Donations
· Emblem orders, etc
· To use appropriate nursing skills, experience and training to obtain details from members over the phone and prioritise this medical information. Ensure relevant medical conditions are displayed on discs, included on the members’ files and that accurate literature is sent to members. A high standard of accurate data entry is essential.
· To adhere to medical protocols when recording member’s medical conditions in order to standardise service and engravings and to assist the Manager in the development of new policies and protocols as necessary.
· Research unfamiliar and rare conditions and share knowledge with the medical team.
To participate in the internal Continuous Professional Development ‘CPD’ programme provided by the MedicAlert Foundation in order to develop and expand medical knowledge.
